Jilanjo understands that hand picking tea can be a costly and timely endeavor.
To combat this, Jilanjo joined forces with the UK-based Nicholson Engineering to design and build a machine that included specialized cutting mechanisms, a sorter conveyor and tea hopper. This machine directly increased the amount of tea leaf harvested per day and ensured that the end product was of a much higher quality than ordinary hand-plucked tea.
The initial design of the first version of this machine was created by two men from Jilanjo with years of experience in the tea industry, Rick Ghaui and the late Keith Mayers. In the years to come, this initial success led to ground-breaking technology in the tea harvesting arena on a global scale. Both international and national tea harvesters came to see the new machine, and many took inspiration from it.
Since then, there have been several updated and improved adaptions of the initial design that have further influenced technical development in Mechanical Tea Harvesting on a whole new level.
If required, Jilanjo can work with you to design and build a machine that suits your specific harvesting needs.
